An exhibition hall dedicated to the scientists achievements of the Institute of Hydrobiology (IHB) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences was unveiled in the institute on May 27, 2022.    

The exhibition hall showcases the research achievements and spiritual values of generations of IHB scientists who have served the country and the people.    

IHB boasts a long history and a talented team. “With the help of older scientists and successive generations of scientists, the institute has made outstanding contributions to the development of hydrobiology in China over the past 90 years,”said XIE Shouqi, deputy director of IHB.   

“Relying on its own resource advantages, IHB has established this educational center. We hope to strengthen the characteristics of the center theme and further inherit the scientific spirit of the older generations, as well as promote the spirit of scientists in the new era,” said LI Haibo, vice president of Wuhan Branch of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.    

Later, Li and Xie unveiled the plaque for the exhibition hall.    

In the lecture following the plaque unveiling ceremony, MIAO Wei, deputy director of IHB, presented the scientific spirit of the late Prof. WANG Jiaji (WANG Chia Chi).    

The institute was also selected as a scientist spirit education base in 2022, as recognized by the Chinese Association for Science and Technology.
