Hubei Provincial Intellectual Property Office recently confirmed open licenses for 13 patents owned by the Institute of Hydrobiology (IHB) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. In open licensing, IHB is making its first official move.  

By implementing 13 patent open licenses in its first phase, the institute is able to further enhance the effectiveness of its transformation of scientific and technological achievements, address the issue of information asymmetry between the supply and demand sides, and reduce the negotiation costs.   

To ensure effective patent open licensing, IHB organized a policy briefing meeting in early September. This was followed by the introduction of the regulation for the implementation of patent open licensing of the institute, which standardized the institute's patent open licensing procedure.
