On the morning of April 10th, YANG Guozong, Secretary of the Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture Committee, LI Su and YU Wei, vice governor of the prefecture, JIANG Hui, deputy secretary-general of the prefecture government and director of the Investment Promotion Bureau, LI Libiao, director of the Ecological Environment Bureau of the prefecture, ZHAO Guolong, director of the Erhai Lake Management Bureau of the prefecture, HEI Shangfeng, director of the Prefecture State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, and YANG Zhanghong, deputy director of the Dali Haidong Development Management Committee, visited the Institute of Hydrobiology (IHB) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences .  

Both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on scientific research cooperation and the bidding for the World Lake Conference. MIAO Wei, the director of the IHB, LIANG Qiong, deputy director of the IHB, LIU Yongding, chief scientist of the Erhai Lake Expert Workstation, HU Zhengyu, director of the World Lake Conference, as well as relevant scientific research personnel and department heads of the institute, participated in the exchange meeting. 

At the meeting, director MIAO Wei extended a warm welcome to secretary YANG Guozong and his delegation. He pointed out that as a "national team" with the responsibility of the nation, the IHB has established an expert workstation with LIU Yongding as the chief scientist and has dispatched more than 80 researchers and graduate students to Erhai Lake to carry out protection and governance work all year round.  

At the same time, with the joint efforts of the Dali prefecture government and all parties concerned, the ecological environment of Erhai Lake has gradually improved, and the green waters and green mountains are transforming into golden mountains and silver mountains. He expressed hope that Erhai Lake's beautiful scenery and the splendid culture of Dali would serve as an opportunity to further strengthen cooperation, establish a stable monitoring team and research platform, and jointly make Erhai Lake a pioneer in lake protection and governance and ecological civilization construction. He also aimed to introduce the experience of Erhai Lake protection and governance to domestic and foreign counterparts and promote the ecological civilization concept of "harmonious coexistence between man and nature" . 

Secretary YANG Guozong expressed gratitude to the researchers at the IHB for their support and assistance to Dali in the investigation and ecological governance of plateau lakes from the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China to today. Dali is a model of "green waters and green mountains are golden mountains and silver mountains". This embodies the wisdom and strength of scientific researchers. He hoped that Dali would become a second home for scientific researchers and encouraged more and more scientific researchers to come to Dali. 

After the discussion, both sides reached a consensus on bidding for the World Lake Conference and jointly building a scientific research base. 

During the visit, Secretary YANG Guozong and his delegation also visited the Aquatic Biological Museum and the Historical Museum of the IHB.
