Deputy Chairman CHANG Yuzhong and his delegation from the Dali Prefecture  conducted a research visit to the Erhai Lake Station of the Institute of Hydrobiology (IHB) of Chinese Academy of Sciences on the morning of April 11th.  

Dr. SHI Lei, a doctoral student from the IHB and staff member at the Erhai Lake Station, gave a detailed introduction to the series of work conducted by the IHB and the Erhai Lake Station in monitoring, protecting, and restoring aquatic plants in Erhai Lake. After listening to reports on the current distribution of aquatic vegetation in Erhai Lake, the techniques and demonstration projects for restoring aquatic vegetation, and the population restoration effectiveness of the rare and unique species, Ottelia acuminata, deputy chairman CHANG Yuzhong affirmed the achievements of the Erhai Lake Station over the years and offered suggestions for the protection of aquatic plants in Erhai Lake. Members of the research group actively shared their insights and suggestions regarding the restoration of aquatic vegetation in the Erhai Lake area, the current operation of the aquatic plant seedling base at the Erhai Lake Station, and the research progress and achievements of the station.
