With approval of the Advanced Industrial Biotechnology Innovation Base of the CAS, with a year’s effort, the CAS/SAFEA International Partnership Program for Creative Research Teams“Research and Utilization of Microalgal Biological Resources”, initiatively applied for by Academician/Professor Jindong ZHAO was approved by the CAS.  

This research team which consists of 5 experts from IHB and 6 experts from abroad will conduct collaborative researches with international counterparts on selection and breeding of microalgae and on certain theories such as photosynthesis, technology of biodiesel and biological hydrogen production from microalgae.  

The “International Partnership Program for Creative Research Teams” which is sponsored by Chinese Academy of Sciences and the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs is a high-level program for attracting intelligence.  

It is reported that this newly approved Teams has been the first one at Wuhan Branch (CAS) so far.
