Resume:

Born in 1961, with a Ph.D degree obtained in 1990 from the University of Exeter in the UK. Promoted to a full professor position in 1996 in the Institute of Hydrobiology, awarded in 2000 the Distinguished Young Scientists by the National Natural Science Foundation. Served as a deputy director from 1999 to 2007 in this institute.

Academic career started from 1982 in the Sun Yat-sen (Zhongshan) University when conducting M.Sc study. Research experiences were obtained in the University of Exeter and the Keele University in the UK and also in the University of Tokyo in Japan. Collaborative research has been quite active and international, and joint research with domestic scientists has also been  an important issue in his laboratory. The collaborative research activities have been widely related with fish parasitology, schistosomes, fish diseases and fish immunology.
