1994 ---- 1995 The Studies of Cell Biological Effects of the Heavy Ion(one of Space Rays) on Wheat ----the section of the studies of effect of the soft x-ray. With methods of Mutation analysis and DNA damage (FADU).
1996--- 1998 The Studies of Programmed Cell Death in Plants and hormone effect on it. With methods of TUNEL for DNA breakage, DNA electrophoresis, SDS-PAGE, Protease analysis, Electron Micrograph and Stress Physiological technique.
1998--- 2000 The Studies of photosynthesis of Anabaena mutant with small antenna size. With methods of Photosynthesis and plant physiology, including measurement of Oxygen evolution, Photosynthetic Pigments, Low Temperature Fluorescence Spectroscopy, Electron Transport Rate and Quantum Yield, Chlorophyll Fluorescence and CO2 assimilation.
2000--- The Studies of Biological Effect of Microgravity on Aquatic Organism (Algae and Fish) and establishing closed Aquatic ecosystem applied in life support system for long-term spaceflight. With methods of Stress Physiology, Photosynthesis, PCR, gene clone, in-situ Hybridization, ELISA, Westernblot, Electron Micrograph, FT-IR, FT-Raman, etc.
2008--- The Studies of Environment stress (UV, Salt, Heat shock, etc.) physiological adaptation and molecular mechanism in algae (Chlamydomonas) and cyanobacteria. With methods of Stress Physiology, Photosynthesis, gene expression, epigenetics regulation (microRNA), transcriptome, degradome, RT-PCR, molecular clone, transformation, etc.
