The 3rd China –Korea Joint Seminar Held in Seoul
Co-organized by the Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IHB) and Korea National Research Resource Center (KNRRC), the 3rd China –Korea Joint Seminar was held in Seoul during 27-28 Sept, 2011.
Under the theme “Biodiversity and Application of Algal Bioresources”, there were one Keynote Session and five seminar sessions with 20 talks given by 10 Chinese speakers and 10 Korean speakers. In the keynote session, Prof. HE Shunping and Prof. HU Zhengyu, both from IHB, and Dr. Yeonhee Lee from KNRRC reported “Chinese freshwater fish diversity”, "Cultivation of an edible Nostoc in China” and "Activities and the current status of Korea National Research Resource Center”, respectively.
Thirteen Chinese guests participated from 3 research institutes and 4 universities: Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Science(CAS), Institute of Zoology, CAS, Wuhan University, Huazhong Agriculture University, China Three Gorges University, Central South University, Wuhan Institute of Virology, CAS.
The first China Korea joint seminar was held as a session (8 talks) of the 1st ANRRC international meeting in Seoul, 2009. The second meeting was in Wuhan, 2010 (16 talks). Both NSFC of China and NRF of Korea sponsored the Joint Seminars. IHB Prof. SONG Lirong and Prof. Yeonhee Lee of KNRRC coordinated the past three Joint Seminars.
