Dr. CAO Hongqing from the University of Adelaide paid a visit to Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IHB) on January 3, 2012. During his stay at the institute, he delivered a lecture entitled “Predictive modelling of ecological data by Hybrid Evolutionary Algorithms” for the audience.  

As one of the major developers of HEA, Dr. Cao introduced the algorithmic theory of HEA, and displayed HEA’s predicting ability of ecological data, especially that of algal data. IHB scholars and students interacted with Dr. Cao on issues of mutual interest. After the lecture, Dr. Cao visited the Supercomputing Center of IHB, and had in-depth communication with researchers from the Research Group of Algal Resources and Toxicology on ecological modeling.
