Sino-French Workshop on Fish Nutrition and Freshwater Ecology Held at IHB


 Mr. Marc Bondiou, Councilor for scientific and technological affairs of the Consulate General of France in Wuhan, delivered a formal speech at the workshop.

The Sino-French Workshop on Fish Nutrition and Freshwater Ecology was held on Oct. 24 at Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IHB).

Prof. Fran?oise MEDALE from French National Institute for Agricultural Research (INRA) gave an oral presentation entitled "Fish nutrition and metabolism with objectives, some recent achievements and the current perspectives”. INRA Prof. Philippe GAUDIN gave an oral presentation entitled "Cooperation of INRA St-Pée with the local University and the other research institutes on fish, fisheries and aquatic environment, Researches on freshwater ecology”.  

IHB Professors gave oral presentations on fishery ecology and freshwater ecology; they also presented their latest achievements in the nutrition and growth regulation of fish.  

This was the first time that Prof. Fran?oise MEDALE and Prof. Philippe GAUDIN have been to the Institute. They later visited the Museum for Aquatic Organisms and some relevant labs in the Institute.  

Prof. Fran?oise MEDALE is director of Research at the Joint Research Unit of the Aquaculture Nutrition and Genomics of INRA, the French National Institute for Agricultural Research. She’s also Member of the INRA National Scientific Committee, Member of the Commission INRA Research Management, Member of the National Committee of the Universities and Expert AFSSA group "Nutritional and healthy properties of aquatic products". Prof. Philippe GAUDIN is director of Behavioral Ecology and Biology of Fish Populations of INRA.
