Prof. Trond Storebakken paid a visit to IHB druing Jan. 22 and 23.

Trond Storebakken, a Professor of fish nutrition from Norwegian University of Life Sciences, paid a visit to Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IHB) during Jan. 22 and 23. During his visit, he gave a lecture entitled “Tilapia revolution” for IHB researchers and students.  

In his presentation, Prof. Storebakken introduced the aquaculture of tilapia and the achievements made in the studies of tilapia in his lab. He also introduced the huge market potentials in tilapia in both China and the world. Towards the end of the lecture, Prof. Storebakken had an extensive interaction with the audience.  

On the afternoon of Jan. 22, a seminar was held for the interaction between Prof. Storebakken and the students of the Research Group of Fish Physiological Ecology.  

Trond Storebakken is now Professor from the Department of Animal and Aquacultural Sciences of Norwegian University of Life Sciences. He has also been a Visiting Professor of Zhejiang Ocean University since 2006 and was awarded the "West Lake Friendship Award” from Zhejiang Province in 2005. His main research interests are biological effects of feed and ingredient procession; feed manufacturing technology, feed processing for aquatic and terrestric animals; evaluation of feed ingredients and additives etc.
