A three-member delegation led by Prof. Steve F. Perry, dean of Faculty of Science, University of Ottawa, paid a visit to IHB on June 7, 2014

A three-member delegation led by Prof. Steve F. Perry, dean of Faculty of Science, University of Ottawa, paid a visit to Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IHB) on June 7, 2014. Dr. Raymond W. M. Kwong who is the post-doc of Prof. Perry and Dr. Yuwei Wang, the project officer of the Office of International Research at uOttawa, were with the Dean during the visit. 

Prof. XU Xudong, deputy director of IHB, extended warm welcome to the visiting delegation and hoped both sides can take advantage of this opportunity to further enhance the cooperative partnership. Prof. Perry first briefly introduced the strategic plan (Destination 2020), the international collaboration goals and research level of uOttawa. As the dean of the Faculty of Science at uOttawa, he also introduced the overview of the Faculty and the research areas and interests of its professors in aquatic biology.     

Prof. HE Feng, head of the Office of R&D Programs at IHB, gave a presentation on the institute’s overview from the aspects of historical development, research areas, personnel structure and research centers and labs. Prof. XIE Shouqi, deputy director of IHB, briefly introduced the programs of graduate education, overseas student recruitment and joint degree to the visiting delegation. Later, 4 professors (Prof. WANG Hongzhu, Prof. XIAO Wuhan, Prof. MIAO Wei and Prof. WANG Qiang) gave presentations on their research highlights and interests, respectively.
