IHB Researchers Attend 2nd China-Canada Fish Physiology and Developmental Biology Symposium

 
                       Prof. ZHU Zuoyan gave an oral presentationat the symposium.
 

The 2nd China-Canada Fish Physiology and Developmental Biology Symposium was held at University of Ottawa in Canada from Oct. 11 to 16, 2014.    

The symposium was chaired by Prof. ZHU Zuoyan from Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IHB) and Prof. Vance L. Trudeau from University of Ottawa. Prof. Steve F. Perry, dean of the Faculty of Science at uOttawa and Prof. XIE Shouqi from IHB introduced the overview of each institution. 
  

Prof. ZHU Zuoyan gave an oral presentation with the title of “Challenges in fish biotechnology-with emphasis on genome manipulation of fish breeding”. He introduced the development status of the China Zebrafish Resource Center. Prof. XIE Shouqi, Prof. HU Wei and Ph.D. student TAO Binbin gave oral presentations with the title of “Can we select a vegetarian fish for aquaculture?”, “Transcriptomic characterization of transcription activator-like effector nucleases-induced XYdmy- sex reversal in female medaka (Oryzias latipes)”, and “Secretogranin b plays an important role during the development of central arteries in zebrafish”.
