Prof. AriadnaSitja-Bobadilla, fish immunologist, together with Prof.Jaume perez Sanchez, fish nutritionist fromInstitute of Aquaculture Torre de la Sal, Spain, paid a visit to IHB, Dec. 2, 2014.

Prof. AriadnaSitja-Bobadilla, fish immunologist, together with Prof. Jaume perez Sanchez, fish nutritionist from Institute of Aquaculture Torre de la Sal, Spain, paid a visit to Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IHB) for academic exchanges on December 2, 2014. They gave academic lectures entitled “Fish-Parasite Interactions: Lessons from the Mediterranean Aquaculture?” and “Limits and constraints for alternative fish feeds in marine farmed fish” respectively during their stay at IHB. 

Prof. AriadnaSitja-Bobadilla gave a thorough introduction about how fish get infected by a parasite and how the immune system of the infected fish response to it. Then Prof. Jaume perez Sanchez presented the Gene Chip that related to fish nutrition to the audiences. Meanwhile, he also mentioned about the evaluation of experiment results by using certain bio-markers, and then took a series of bio-markers to evaluate the stress of fish for an example. Researchers and postgraduates from the college of fisheries, Huazhong Agricultural University and IHB participated actively in the lecture and exchanged ideas about fish immunology and fish nutrition.
