Lake Biwa Museum, located in Kusatsu, Shiga Prefecture, devotes its studies on the relationship between Lakes and people, focusing on Lake Biwa and changes that have taken place during its long history. The museum, which is Japan’s important fish breeding and conservation center, houses one of the largest freshwater aquariums in Japan, displaying many of the endemic species from Lake Biwa.
