A thirteen-member delegation led by ZHANG Lu, vice president and chief technology officer of Tongwei Co., Ltd, paid a visit to Institute of Hydrobiology (IHB) of Chinese Academy of Sciences on May 17, 2018. XIE Shouqi, deputy director of IHB, welcomed the visiting delegation.   

Zhang introduced the overview of the company and its demands for scientific and technological support.    

She said, “Hopefully, this visit would deepen our bilateral cooperation in an all-round way.” Cooperating with IHB in certain fields of aquaculture, the company hoped to explore new fields that would produce more mutual benefits for both sides.   

The institute’s strategic positioning is in satisfying the strategic demands of the country for water environment protection, sustainable development of fishery and utilization of microalgal bio-resources. Further cooperation with Tongwei would “help both sides give full play to their strengths and push forward the aquaculture development in Hubei and the whole nation”, as Xie said in his remarks.    

Both sides had in-depth interaction on issues of integrated rice-field aquaculture, reproduction and breeding of fingerlings, nutrition and feed, healthy aquaculture, disease prevention and water quality regulation. A preliminary agreement had been reached on co-construction of a green innovation platform with high efficiency in aquaculture.
