A five-member delegation led by Mr. SONG Guosheng, president of China Precise Ocean Detection Technology Co.,Ltd (CPODT), paid a visit to Institute of Hydrobiology (IHB) of Chinese Academy of Sciences on June 27, 2018.    

President Song as well as the chief engineer CHEN Zhihui introduced the overview of the CPODT and its technological strengths and research demands.    

“If our company joins hands with IHB and we take full advantages of both sides’ strengths in technology and research development, we could serve Hubei and even the whole country,” said Song.    

With its unique studies in inland aquatic organisms, IHB could collaborate with the CPODT in the protection of endangered aquatic animals, water environment pollution, pre-warning and monitoring of ecology, as well as supercomputing service.    

“Our collaboration could produce visible benefits especially against the state’s current background of the extensive protection of the Yangtze River,” said Prof. HU Wei, deputy director of IHB, when meeting the delegation.    

The restoration of the Yangtze River ecosystem was made a top priority in 2016 as part of the national development plan for the Yangtze River economic belt. The development of the economic belt will follow a green path, with the strictest environmental protection and water resources management measures.    

Hopefully, with joint efforts, new technology and monitoring means could be provided to protect the ecological environment of the Yangtze River and the inland water bodies, Hu said.
