IHB  signed a scientific and technological cooperation agreement with the People’s Government of Dengzhou City at IHB on September 1, 2018.    

Institute of Hydrobiology (IHB) of Chinese Academy of Sciences signed a scientific and technological cooperation agreement with the People’s Government of Dengzhou City at IHB on September 1, 2018.    

According to the agreement, both sides will cooperate in the seedling propagation of new varieties in allogynogenetic gibel carp, integrated rice field aquaculture, germplasm selection and safety evaluation of aquatic vegetable, and disease control of aquatic animal.   

A ten-member delegation led by ZHANG Zhenbang, member of the Party Leadership Group of the People's Government of Dengzhou City, as well as WANG Yunli, director general of Dengzhou S&T Bureau attended the signing ceremony. 

Dengzhou, as the regional center of Danjiangkou Reservoir Area, annually supplies 600 million cubic meters of water to the middle route of South-to-North Water Transfer Project, and is the only city with sufficient Danjiang River water resources along the middle route of South-to-North Water Transfer Project in Henan Province.   

The People's Government of Dengzhou initially contacted IHB in January 2018. With Dengzhou Jianguo Agricultural and Sideline Products Co., Ltd. as the demonstration base, Prof. Gui Jianfang (CAS academician) led the team to set up the academician workstation in Dengzhou city where aquaculture researches and technology had been carried out and promoted.
