The symposium on Aquatic Science of National Nature Science Foundation of China was held at Institute of Hydrobiology (IHB) of Chinese Academy of Sciences on September 28, 2018.    

YIN Zhan, director of IHB, gave a welcome speech at the symposium. HU Jingjie, director of the eighth section of the Life Science Division of NSFC, introduced the purposes of this symposium.    

Prof. HU Wei, deputy director of IHB, introduced the application and funding of the discipline codes of the NSFC aquatic science project over the past decade.    

Attendees had in-depth discussion on the development and trend of the aquatic sciences, the urgent scientific problems and key technologies, the distribution of funding scope and key areas, and the adjustment of the discipline code of the aquatic subjects.
