WU Zhiqiang, vice director general of Department of Ocean and Fisheries of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, paid a visit to Institute of Hydrobiology (IHB) of Chinese Academy of Sciences on November 2, 2018.    

He donated a book entitled Developmental Anatomy with the Chinese and English signature of Prof. WU Xianwen, former director of IHB, to IHB’s library. The book cost 14 US dollars.    

Wu said that Prof. Wu bought this book in 1926 and it was collected by Prof. ZHANG Shanqing of Huadong Normal University for decade of years. Prof. Zhang is 86 years old and hoped to donate this book to IHB.    

Wu also visited Prof. CAO Wenxuan (CAS academician) and Prof. GUI Jianfang (CAS academician) when he stayed at IHB.    

Prof. WU Xianwen was born in 1900. He graduated from Nanjing Higher Normal University in 1921 and served as assistant at the Department of Zoology at Xiamen University in the same year. Wu obtained his B.Sc at Xiamen University in 1927.    

Wu Zhiqiang did his postdoctoral research at IHB during 1998 and 2000. His supervisor was Prof. CAO Wenxuan.
