IHB Signs Strategic Cooperation Agreement with Administration Bureau of Qinghai Lake National Nature Reserve
IHB signed a strategic cooperation agreement on the environment evaluation studies of water ecology in Qinghai Lake with the Administration Bureau of Qinghai Lake National Nature Reserve (hereinafter as Bureau) on August 7, 2019.
Institute of Hydrobiology (IHB) of Chinese Academy of Sciences signed a strategic cooperation agreement on the environment evaluation studies of water ecology in Qinghai Lake with the Administration Bureau of Qinghai Lake National Nature Reserve (hereinafter as Bureau) on August 7, 2019. This marks a new stage for the in-depth cooperation between the two sides.
According to the agreement, IHB and the Bureau will give full play to its strengths and integrate the platforms of research, education, conservation and water ecological restoration technology. Key emphasis will lay on the water ecological conservation of Qinghai Lake. Water ecological environment monitoring, water ecosystem evaluation and water ecology restoration will be conducted and technological support and advice will be given to the management of water ecological environment in the Qinghai Lake National Nature Reserve.
On behalf of both sides, IHB’s deputy director YIN Zhan and XIONG Wanseng, deputy director general of the Bureau, signed the agreement.
As early as the 1960s to 1970s, IHB researchers have participated in the comprehensive investigation of the Qinghai Lake. Since 2010, IHB research teams have settled in the scientific base located in the Qinghai Lake National Nature Reserve. For ten years, IHB has provided S&T support for the water ecological environment protection of Qinghai Lake. This newly established cooperation relation will lie in the monitoring, study and treatment of the water environment of Qinghai Lake.
