TIAN Wenping, deputy mayor of Neijiang city in Sichuan province, led a delegation including principals from the Neijiang Agricultural Sciences Academy, Neijiang Fishery Administration Bureau, Neijiang Finance Bureau and Zizhong county Fishery Development Center, to push forward the strategic cooperation with Institute of Hydrobiology (IHB) of Chinese Academy of Sciences on August 27, 2019.

During his visit, Tian said that Neijiang has unique regional advantages and abundant aquaculture water surfaces. At present, Neijiang faces the opportunity period for the development of high quality fishery. Neijiang will joint all of its efforts to develop high-qualtiy fishery and realize the transition from a large fishery market to a strong aquatic products market.

IHB’s deputy director YIN Zhan introduced IHB’s strengths in aquaculture. He said, “We will set up a team of fishery experts to connect with Neijiang and hope we achieve cooperation intentions on specific projects.”

The visit of deputy mayor of Neijiang provided a channel for both sides to exchange views on the construction of aquatic seed farms, quality promotion of aquatic products etc. Both sides will further negotiate on specific issues of mutual interest.
