Institute of Hydrobiology (IHB) of Chinese Academy of Sciences signed a cooperation agreement on the construction of monitoring station of the ecological environment of waters in Chishui River with Renhuai People’s Government, Guizhou Province on November 7, 2019.

On behalf of both sides, CHEN Jinchao, deputy mayor of Renhuai, signed the agreement with YIN Zhan, deputy director of IHB. According to the agreement, IHB will construct the monitoring station of the ecological environment of waters in Chishui River with Renhuai city.

The to-be-established station will conduct studies on the environment monitoring of water ecology in Chishui River, thus promoting the ecological environment protection.

Chishui River is not only an important part of the national nature reserve of rare and unique fish in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, but also an important origin of Maotai Liquor. To preserve the ecological environment health of Chishui River is of great significance to the social and economic development along the Chishui River basin.
