A Joint Academy to Be Built to Control Water Pollution and Restore Ecosystem

An industry-university cooperative research academy that devotes to the water pollution control and ecosystem restoration of lakes and rivers will be jointly constructed by the Institute of Hydrobiology (IHB) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Hubei Yangtze River Industrial Investment Group Co., Ltd.    

The plaque of the joint academy was unveiled by HE Dachun, president of the Yangtze Investment, and YIN Zhan, director of IHB, on April 15, 2021.    

Later, represented by both sides, the agreement was signed by YIN Zhan and JIANG Gongxin, president of Wuhan Zhongke Hydrobiological Environment Engineering Co., Ltd., which is wholly owned by the Yangtze Investment.    

According to the agreement, IHB Prof. CAO Te will serve as the president of the joint academy.    

The to-be-built academy will strengthen ties between the Yangtze Investment and IHB in water pollution control and ecosystem restoration, aquaculture wastewater treatment, green aquatic products development, and large surface water ecological fisheries.
