Vice President of Tibet University Visits IHB

A delegation of eight members led by MENG Fangbing, vice president of Tibet University, paid a visit to the Institute of Hydrobiology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (IHB) on May 6, 2021.    

The purpose of the visit was to discuss on the issues related to the joint cultivation of students, and strengthen ties between both sides.    

IHB’s director YIN Zhan welcomed the delegation, and briefly introduced the institute’s development and research directions. ZHAO Donghui, staff from the Graduate Education Office, introduced the study and research progress made by the students of class 2019 and 2020 under the joint cultivation program.    

The delegation introduced the university and expressed willingness to further cooperate with IHB.    

“We can explore more areas of cooperation in the study of unique ecosystem of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau,”said HU Wei, deputy director of IHB. “More means of cooperation, like symposiums, and forums are encouraged.”   

Touching on the students’ sense of belonging to the Tibet University, MIAO Wei, deputy director of IHB, said that the students could take the opportunity of writing thesis to go to TU with their supervisors, and feel the academic and cultural atmosphere of the university.    

MENG Fangbing expressed gratitude for IHB’s support for the TU. “IHB has provided a good study and research platform for our students. We hope, with the support from IHB, more high-level talents can be cultivated.”Meng said.
