A delegation led by HU Wei, deputy director of the Institute of Hydrobiology (IHB) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, paid a visit to Weifang, Shandong province, on June 17, 2021.    

The delegation interacted with MA Qingmin, vice mayor of Weifang, on bilateral cooperation in water ecological environment protection of Xiashan reservoir.    

Both sides had in-depth discussion on water ecological environment restoration, water quality improvement, algae control, fish community structure regulation and fish disease monitoring and prevention in Xiashan reservoir.    

“Through cooperation in water environment treatment, we can further improve the water quality of Xiashan reservoir”, said SUN Jihai, director of Xiashan Eco-economic Development Zone Management Committee.   

IHB’s deputy director said the institute will support Xiashan in water ecological environment protection based on a long-term strategic partnership.
