The Second China Aquaculture Seed Industry Expo was held in Guangdong International Fishery High-tech Park in Guangzhou during December 6 and 8, 2021.    

A series of achievements made by the Institute of Hydrobiology (IHB) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences were exhibited at the expo. These included the allogynogenetic gibel carp “CAS V”, a new species of bighead carp, microalgae-based bait and functional feed additives, crucian carp nutrition and feed technology, artificial breeding technique of largemouth bronze gudgeon, techniques for the diagnosis and control of fish parasitic diseases, and underwater detector used to identify and analyze fish species.    

A number of officials, including MA Youxiang, Vice Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and YE Zhenqin, Member of the Standing Committee of the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee, visited the IHB exhibition stand and fully affirmed the breeding of the allogynogenetic gibel carp “CAS V”.    

IHB's achievements were appreciated by the visitors, and they expressed a desire to cooperate.   

The goal of the expo is to encourage aquaculture seed industry development, transformation, and upgrading. It will further promote the high-quality development of the aquaculture seed industry.
