The Institute of Hydrobiology (IHB) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences signed an agreement with Weifang Xiashan Reservoir Management Service Center (WXRMSC) on December 18, 2021 in Weifang, Shandong Province. Represented by both sides, HU Wei, deputy director of IHB, and HOU Zhenxiang, director of WXRMSC, signed the agreement.   

Based on the agreement, both sides will further enhance the ecological protection of the Xiashan Reservoir, thereby providing strong impetus to the level of ecological governance at reservoir.    

“IHB will fully exploit its research, talents and other advantages of the institute, and work with Weifang to do a good job of ecological protection of the Xiashan Reservoir”, said the deputy director of IHB.   

Later after the signing ceremony, the vice mayor of Weifang and the deputy director of the IHB jointly unveiled a research base in Xiashan.   

The Xiashan Reservoir, located in the Xiashan District of Weifang City, is a strategic water source in Shandong Province.
