Vice Mayor of Huai’an City Visits IHB

A delegation led by WANG Xianghong, vice mayor of Huai'an Municipal People's Government, visited the Institute of Hydrobiology (IHB) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences on July 20, 2022 to discuss bilateral scientific cooperation. Together with the vice mayor were ZHU Pengcheng, deputy secretary general of Huai'an Municipal People's Government, HU Changqing, director general of Huai'an Science and Technology Bureau, and CHEN Jing, director of Huai'an Science and Education Office.   

The visiting delegation visited the institute’s Museum of Hydrobiological Sciences and Museum of Historical Development, where they gained a comprehensive understanding of the institute’s 90-year history, discipline layout and platform construction.    

The vice mayor highlighted the institute’s role in the protection of aquatic ecology and water ecology in Hongze Lake and its surrounding areas, and spoke highly of its contribution to the sustainable utilization of fishery resources, green aquaculture development and water environment and ecological protection.  
  

“We hope the researchers of IHB will continue to rely on the institute’s Huai'an Center for more in-depth collaboration and communication, and to support the development of related industries and the ecological protection in the city,” said Wang.
