A 16-member delegation led by LI Su, executive vice mayor of Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province, visited the Institute of Hydrobiology (IHB) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences on July 19, 2022.
The two sides enhanced their exchange and cooperation in the protection and management of Lake Erhai, and pushed the Erhai scientific research strategic cooperation agreement (2021-2025) to promote the exchange work.
HU Wei, deputy director of IHB, welcomed the delegation. “Researchers from IHB have worked on an array of national projects over the years to treat and restore Lake Erhai and have achieved a number of positive results,”said Hu.
Profs. CAO Te and GUO Chuanbo introduced the achievements their teams made in the Lake Erhai over the years, and looked forward to expanding the key cooperation in the future.
The executive vice mayor expressed his full appreciation and gratitude to the institute for its roots in the Lake Erhai over the years and its phased success in protecting and managing the lake.
It remains a major challenge for the management and protection of Lake Erhai. “We hoped IHB will continue to develop its professional, technical and talent advantages in the direction of the water ecosystem, to further strengthen the joint construction of the Erhai Water Ecosystem Research Platform,”said Li.
