The Institute of Hydrobiology (IHB) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences achieved 28th excellent rating in the appraisal of the open sharing of large-scale research equipment and facilities among the 345 participating units in the country, according to the announcement issued by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Finance. This is also the second year in a row that the institute has been awarded excellence.       

The objective data and operational efficiency of the large-scale research equipment and facilities in universities and institutes were evaluated through expert consultation and on-site verification. Post-subsidy funds will be awarded to units with excellent and good assessment results.       

The institute’s Analysis and Testing Center has standardized its management system, promoted the reform of the full cost accounting system, implemented a highly open sharing mechanism with a high level of professional technical service platform.  

The institute's standardized and centralized management of significant research instruments and equipment has made it possible to employ these resources effectively and has been crucial in enabling the institute to carry out its primary research responsibilities. 

During the 14th five-year development plan, IHB will place high priority on sharing of large-scale equipment and facilities, strengthen the overall research planning and purchasing process, improve management and service levels, and develop a first-class professional technical support team.
