The Institute of Hydrobiology (IHB) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Ya’an Municipal People’s Government signed a framework cooperation agreement on December 23, 2022 to further support the innovation-driven development strategy, encourage open interaction and joint development between local government and institutes, and achieve the integration of resources and geographical advantages with research innovation and talent technology.    

Represented by both sides, YIN Zhan, director of IHB, and PENG Yingmei, mayor of Ya’an, signed the agreement.    

The agreement states that the two parties will work together to create a platform for the restoration and protection of ecological environment in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, vigorously promote major and key areas for joint research, conduct joint research on the challenges associated with sturgeon breeding and processing, and pool talent resources to achieve strategic cooperation.    

At the signing ceremony, IHB Prof. CAO Wenxuan, who is also a CAS member, received a certificate of special expert from LI Li, secretary of the Ya'an Municipal Party Committee.
