A seven-member delegation led by YUAN Haihan, standing committee member of the Ya'an Municipal Party Committee and director general of Organization Department, visited the Institute of Hydrobiology (IHB) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences on March 24, 2023 for research discussions. They also had the honor of meeting esteemed Prof. CAO Wenxuan (CAS member), a specially-appointed expert in Ya'an.    

YIN Zhan, director of IHB, welcomed the delegation from Ya'an. He mentioned that at the end of 2022, the institute signed a framework cooperation agreement with the Ya'an Municipal Government, and he hoped to leverage the strengths of the institute to deepen bilateral cooperation.  

YUAN Haihan introduced the purpose of their visit and expressed gratitude to Prof. CAO Wenxuan for his support and care for Ya'an. He expressed a desire to promote substantive cooperation between Ya'an and IHB in areas such as joint research and development platforms, attracting high-level talents, and technology transfer.    

ZHENG Hong, deputy director general of the Ya'an Municipal Agriculture and Rural Bureau, provided an overview of the fishery industry and related information about Ya'an City and Tianquan County. He extended an invitation to the experts from IHB to provide on-site guidance and exchange.   

Prof. CAO Wenxuan expressed his deep connection with Ya'an, emphasizing that it is a wonderful place. He put forward suggestions and thoughts on topics such as biodiversity conservation in Ya'an, ecological environment protection of the Qingjiang River, and the development planning of aquaculture.    

During the meeting, the participants engaged in in-depth discussions and exchanges on topics including ecological environmental protection in Ya'an City, and talent cultivation.
