Professor from CAS Tianjin Institute of Industrial Biotechnology Visits IHB

Professor WANG Qinhong from Tianjin Institute of Industrial Biotechnology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences was invited to the Institute of Hydrobiology (IHB) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences on May 5th 2023. He delivered a lecture titled "Retrospect and Prospect of Biomanufacturing Development".
During the lecture, Professor Wang introduced the characteristics of biomanufacturing and outlined the development process of the modern biomanufacturing industry in China. He elucidated the current status and significant progress made in the past decade, comparing it with international biomanufacturing development and analyzing China's strengths and development bottlenecks.
Wang highlighted the innovative practices of the Tianjin Institute of Industrial Biotechnology in the field of biomanufacturing and presented a series of achievements. These accomplishments demonstrated the contribution and impact of biomanufacturing development on advancing China's economic and social progress.
Wang offered his thoughts and outlook on the future development of biomanufacturing in China. He emphasized that automation, intelligence, and integration are the trends shaping the industry's future, and provided an overview of the construction of the biomanufacturing mega-facility at the Tianjin Institute of Industrial Biotechnology.
Wang currently serves as the deputy director of the Tianjin Institute of Industrial Biotechnology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. His primary research focuses on the evolution and metabolic engineering of industrial microbes.
