YIN Zhan, director of the Institute of Hydrobiology (IHB) of the China Academy of Sciences led an expert team to conduct a research visit in Ya'an, Sichuan from May 15 to 18, 2023.  PENG Yingmei, mayor of Ya'an, met with Yin and sought the opinions and suggestions of experts from the institute on the development strategy of cold water aquaculture in Ya'an.   

On the morning of the 16th, Yin was invited to deliver a presentation on "Fishery Resources and Yangtze River Ecological Protection". This provided insights for the ecological civilization construction and green development work in Ya'an.   

On the 17th, a plaque unveiling ceremony was held at the Tianquan Runzhao Sturgeon Co., Ltd. for the Research Postgraduate Internship and Practice Base, as well as the Research Postgraduate Employment and Entrepreneurship Base. Through the construction of these bases, the institute will bring scientific research achievements, innovative ideas, and outstanding talent resources to Ya'an, creating a mutually beneficial and win-win situation in conjunction with Ya'an's resource and professional advantages.   

During the research visit, Yin Zhan and his team engaged in extensive discussions with aquaculture enterprises on key technical issues such as cold water fish seedling cultivation and fish disease prevention and control.   

IHB has already signed a framework cooperation agreement with the Ya'an Municipal Government. This research visit aims to promote effective practice in government-school-enterprise cooperation, acting as a "bridge link" between the institute and local enterprises in talent cultivation and achievement transformation. It will further drive the strategic cooperation between the institute and the municipal government in sharing talent resources.
