IHB and Hubei Fisheries Group Forge Partnership for Aquaculture Innovation

On June 11, a delegation from the Institute of Hydrobiology (IHB) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences visited Hubei Fisheries Group for a strategic meeting.


During the meeting, LV Kexian, chairman of Hubei Fisheries Group, welcomed the delegation and provided an overview of the group's industry layout and development goals. He highlighted Hubei’s abundant water resources and the company's focus on developing four key products: fish, shrimp, eel, and lotus. Lv emphasized the group's commitment to building a full supply chain, spanning research, breeding, base production, processing, and sales, and expressed interest in strengthening cooperation with IHB to drive the sustainable growth of Hubei’s aquaculture industry.


XIE Shouqi, deputy director of IHB, outlined the institute’s expertise in areas such as fish breeding, aquaculture technology, fish disease prevention, wastewater treatment, large water surface management, and aquatic ecosystem restoration. He expressed eagerness to collaborate closely with the group, aiming for mutual benefits and the advancement of the region's aquaculture sector.


Both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on key issues such as the breeding of eels and silver carp, disease prevention, and wastewater management. They reached a consensus on several areas of collaboration, laying a solid foundation for future joint projects.
