On February 27, 2025, a delegation from the Luojiashan District Office, led by GUO Gangyong, a senior official from the district, visited the Institute of Hydrobiology (IHB) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The visit aimed to explore ways to deepen collaboration between the institute and the local community, promote the application of scientific achievements for public benefit, and jointly build an ecologically sustainable and livable community. IHB deputy director XU Jun and representatives from relevant departments participated in the discussions.

During the meeting, XU Jun provided an overview of IHB’s development, research areas, science communication resources, major infrastructure projects, and community engagement efforts. "We hope to leverage our scientific achievements to support local development, improve regional ecological environments, and contribute to green development through collaboration with the district," Xu said.

GUO Gangyong praised IHB’s scientific expertise and its dedication to social responsibility. He highlighted the district’s focus on partnering with research institutions to harness their intellectual resources for ecological protection and science education. "By working with IHB, we aim to achieve greater progress in environmental conservation and public awareness while providing the necessary support to foster a conducive environment for research and talent development," Guo stated.

The visit underscored the shared commitment of both parties to advancing ecological sustainability and community well-being through science-driven initiatives.
