MAO Ronghua, president of the Guizhou Provincial High People's Court, led a delegation to inspect the Chishui Field Station for Conservation of Rare and Endemic Fishes of the Upper Yangtze River and Monitoring of River Ecosystem and its affiliated Judicial Protection and Scientific Research Center for Upper Yangtze Rare Fish on March 24, 2025. The visit underscored growing cross-sector collaboration to advance ecological conservation through integrated legal and scientific approaches.

Hosted by MIAO Wei, director of the Institute of Hydrobiology (IHB) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and field station head LIU Huanzhang, the delegation reviewed the center's achievements since its 2023 establishment, including training specialized judges for environmental cases, informing judicial decisions with aquatic ecosystem damage assessments, breeding and reintroducing endangered fish species, restoring critical habitats in the Chishui River.

The visit concluded with the release of 500 captive-bred Chinese high-fin banded sharks (a nationally protected species) into the Chishui River—a tangible step toward repopulating endemic fish.
