Henan Normal University Delegation Visits IHB to Strengthen Research Collaboration

A five-member delegation from Henan Normal University, led by vice president NIE Guoxing, visited the Institute of Hydrobiology (IHB) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences to explore deeper collaboration in aquaculture research and talent development on May 24, 2025. The delegation included representatives from the university's College of Fisheries and administrative offices.
IHB’s deputy director XIE Shouqi warmly welcomed the visitors, emphasizing the institute's commitment to strengthening partnerships with academic institutions.
Vice president Nie reflected on the historical ties between the two institutions, noting the foundational support IHB scientists provided in establishing Henan Normal University's fisheries program. "We are grateful for the expertise shared by IHB's senior researchers over the years," Nie stated. "There is significant potential to expand our collaboration in student training and joint research initiatives."
IHB's graduate education office presented details about their joint training programs with partner universities, including student recruitment and academic supervision processes. Discussions covered innovative approaches to talent development, archival research, disciplinary advancement, and potential scientific partnerships.
The visit concluded with a tour of IHB's history exhibit, showcasing the institute's nine decades of contributions to aquatic science.
