YI Qingtao, president of Dalian Ocean University (DLOU), visited the Institute of Hydrobiology (IHB) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences on September 29, 2025. 

IHB deputy director XIE Shouqi warmly welcomed the delegation and expressed sincere appreciation for DLOU’s longstanding support in postgraduate education. Representatives from IHB, including joint-supervision tutors, graduate administration staff, and jointly-trained students, attended the meeting. 

During the meeting, Yi introduced DLOU’s latest developments in discipline planning, faculty development, and new infrastructure initiatives. Both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on enhancing the quality of jointly-trained postgraduate students and fostering their professional growth for mutual benefit. 

This exchange provided fresh insights for improving the joint-training mechanism and clarified new directions for optimizing the talent cultivation system. Moving forward, both institutions will leverage joint postgraduate training as a key link to explore innovative models in research collaboration and resource sharing, jointly advancing the cultivation of high-level talents in fisheries and aquatic sciences.
