IHB Signs Strategic Partnership Agreement with Shanghai Ocean University

On December 19, 2025, Shanghai Ocean University (SHOU) and the Institute of Hydrobiology (IHB) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences formally entered into a strategic partnership. The agreement was signed during a visit by a SHOU delegation led by university council chairperson WANG Hongzhou, university council vice vhairperson and president HU Wei, university council vice chairperson and vice president XIA Yamin, and vice president LUO Yi.

The signing ceremony was attended by IHB leadership including director MIAO Wei and deputy director XIE Shouqi. In his remarks, MIAO highlighted the long-standing collaborative relationship between the two institutions, noting their shared missions in aquatic sciences and sustainable resource use. He highlighted that president HU Wei, who previously served as deputy director of IHB, provides a unique and natural link to further deepen cooperation.

Chairperson WANG Hongzhou commended IHB's contributions to aquatic ecology and fisheries research, and expressed confidence that the agreement would strengthen joint efforts in scientific innovation and talent development to support national strategic goals.

Vice president LUO Yi and IHB deputy director XU Jun signed the agreement on behalf of their respective institutions, marking a commitment to enhanced collaboration in scientific research, platform sharing, and academic exchange.

The partnership is expected to foster closer ties in areas such as discipline development, joint research projects, and training of high-level professionals.
