IHB professors together with Prof. Chung Pyung-Rim (3rd L), Honorary Professor of IHB and professor of Inha University attended the 1st Asian network for research resource center & the 1st Asian chapter meeting of ISBER in Seoul, South Korea, during Sept.22 and 26, 2009. 

The 1st Asian network for research resource center & the 1st Asian chapter meeting of ISBER (International Society for Biological and Environmental Repositories), organized by Korea National Research Resources Center, was held in Seoul, South Korea, during Sept.22 to 26, 2009. About 200 representatives from both Asia and Europe participated in this event.  

IHB Profs. Jianfang GUI, Lirong SONG, Renhui LI, Jiashou LIU and Associate Prof. Bangding XIAO formed a five-member delegation to attend this meeting in Seoul. In Session one, Prof. Lirong SONG and Prof. Yeonhee LEE, director-general of Korea National Research Resource Center co-chaired the China-Korea joint seminar which centered on issues related to the formal establishment of the Asian Network of Research Resource Center (ANRRC). Prof. Renhui Li and Prof. Jiashou LI gave lectures respectively to introduce the latest progress achieved in taxonomic studies on water bloom forming Microcystis (Cyanobacteria) and fishery resources utilization. IHB Prof. Jianfang GUI was invited to give a lecture in the animal resources session.  

IHB Professors’ current visit to South Korea was carried out in accordance with the NSFC-KOSEF Cooperation Agreement. The establishment of the Asian Network of Research Resource Center (ANRRC) will promote researches on resource utilization and the sharing of resources, information and technology among Asian countries.
