Professor of University of California, Riverside Visits IHB

Prof. B. Larry Li paid a visit to Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IHB) on May 16.
B. Larry Li, Professor of Ecology, Director of the CAU-UCR International Center for Ecology and Sustainability at University of California, Riverside paid a visit to Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IHB) on May 16. During his visit, he made a presentation entitled “Ecological complexity——integrating from genomes to ecosystem” for IHB audience .

Prof. Li’s presentation included the following aspects: ecological complexity and sustainable development; dynamic process of mathematical model and environmental manipulation, relationship between body weight, metabolic rate and ecosystem. He clarified the complicated theories in a simple and vivid way so that the audience had a more thorough view of the mathematical model. Prof. Li also explained the ecological complexity by adopting the theories of energy ecology and non-linear theories.

B. Larry Li is Professor of Ecology, Director of the CAU-UCR International Center for Ecology and Sustainability. He is also Founder and Editor-in-Chief of the international journal: Ecological Complexity, with a broad interdisciplinary background and experience in ecological studies.
