IHB Researchers Attend 8th Symposium of World's Chinese Scientists on Nutrition & Feeding of Finfish and Shellfish

The 8th Symposium of World’s Chinese Scientists on Nutrition & Feeding of Finfish and Shellfish was held in Chengdu, Sichuan Province from September 7 to 9, 2011. A delegation consisting of 14 researchers and students from the Research Group of Fish Physiological Ecology at Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IHB) were present at the symposium.  

The theme of the symposium is “nutrition, health, safety and sustainable development”. There were in total 15 invited lectures, 89 oral presentations and 266 posters presented at the symposium. IHB Prof. XIE Shouqi gave an invited lecture entitled “Aquatic Feed Nutrition, Feeding and Environment”. 12 posters were presented by IHB participants with one poster being awarded the best poster award.  

The symposium was organized by the Aquatic Nutrition and Feeding Society of China Society of Fisheries, and jointly undertaken by Shanghai Ocean University, Sichuan Agricultural University and Tongwei Co., Ltd. Participants from various parts of the world gathered together to exchange views on the topics including protein and amino acids; molecular nutrition; aquatic quality and safety; vitamins and minerals; non-nutritional feed additive; nutrition, health and environment etc.
