Professor of Fish Nutrition Visits IHB
Prof. Silas S. O. Hung, an internationally well-known Professor of Fish Nutrition, paid a visit to Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IHB) on Sept. 5. During his visit, Prof. Hung held a seminar where he interacted with IHB teachers and students in the fields of mutual interest.
Prof. Hung answered the problems and puzzles that might be encountered with in the experimental designs and experiments with simple language. He then introduced his research in fish nutrition and the development of this research field in the future. The students benefit a lot from Prof. Hung’s conscientious attitude towards research. They interacted with Prof. Hung and suggested by the latter on their research plans.
Prof. Hung is a Professor of Animal Science at University of California, Davis. His research is focused on nutrition and toxicology of white sturgeon and other species of fish. He is a member of the editorial board of the journals including Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences (KSFAS), Aquaculture, Animal Feed Science and Technology and associate editor of the journals including Progressive Fish-Culturist (1993-1995), Aquaculture Nutrition (1994-2004), Journal of the Chinese Nutrition Society, Chinese Nutrition Society/Taipei.
