Invited by Dr. Zoltan M. Varga, the Director of Zebrafish International Reseource Center (ZIRC ), Dr. PAN Luyuan from Institute of Hydrobiology (IHB), Chinese Academy of Sciences, visited ZIRC in Eugene, Oregon, USA from August 28 to September 5.    

During the visit, Dr. Pan introduced the development of the China Zebrafish Resource Center (CZRC) at IHB. ZIRC staff introduced their management system for daily management of fish facility, sperm cryopreservation, import and distribution of zebrafish research lines, genotype identification, zebrafish husbandry and core database maintenance. The two centers exchanged views on fish disease control, internationally recognized standards of zebrafish facility and discussed the feasibility of sharing zebrafish resources. A preliminary agreement was reached on principles and operational methods for exchanging zebrafish lines.   

During her trip to the U.S., Dr. Pan also attended the 8th Annual Zebrafish Disease Models Conference (ZDM8).
