On March 29th, 2017, Prof. Jianying Gan from the University of California, Riverside, paid a visit to IHB.

On March 29th, 2017, Prof. Jianying Gan from the University of California, Riverside, paid a visit to Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Science (IHB) and gave an oral presentation with the title of "Current Research on Contaminants".  

Prof. Gan began the presentation with his research work on Chirality of organic pollutants, biological availability, passive sampling technology and emerging pollutants. He introduced the overview of California University and the facts of the journal Science of the Total Environment. His presentation aroused interest of IHB teachers and students. Towards the end of the presentation, Prof. Gan and the audience discussed the problems of passive sampling technology, ecological toxicology and resistance genes. 

Prof. Jianying Gan, who is the chief editor of the journal Science of the Total Environment, is mainly engaged in the study of organic pollutants environmental chemistry and toxicology, pollution control and water quality protection.
