Prof. Erik Jeppesen from Aarhus University paid a visit to IHB during August 2 and 8, 2018.

Prof. Erik Jeppesen from Aarhus University paid a visit to Institute of Hydrobiology (IHB) of Chinese Academy of Sciences during August 2 and 8, 2018. During his visit, he delivered a lecture entitled "Lakes restoration in a climate changes perspective".

Beginning his lecture, Prof. Jeppesen introduced the efforts and achievements in the reduction of external pollution in river and lake ecosystems. He also listed some successful cases and specific experience in the management of lake eutrophication through the comparison of various treatment methods in Europe.

He compared the characteristics of lakes and the differences in trophic levels in different climate zones, thus pointing the effects of climate change on the development of lake eutrophication and the new challenges of lake governance.

Erik Jeppesen, a professor of Aarhus University, is a well-known expert in the field of lake restoration. He mainly focused on the study of water Ecology and lake restoration, especially in the control of eutrophication. He has published over 600 papers, the citations of his papers in the ISI WEB reference - more than 20000 times (Google cited more than 40000 times). He is the former per thousand of Ecology and environmental sciences cited authors.
