CZRC Holds Three National Zebrafish Technical Training Courses

The ninth, tenth and eleventh national zebrafish technical training courses which were organized by CZRC were held continuously from April 16 to 19, April 23 to 26 and from May 7 to 10, 2019 at IHB.

The ninth, tenth and eleventh national zebrafish technical training courses which were organized by China Zebrafish Resource Center (CZRC) were held continuously from April 16 to 19, April 23 to 26 and from May 7 to 10, 2019 at Institute of Hydrobiology (IHB) of Chinese Academy of Sciences. These three training sessions were based on the basic experimental techniques of zebrafish. 48 students from 41 research institutes, universities and companies across china participated in the training sessions.

The training courses aimed at the special needs of the newly built zebrafish laboratories and the researchers who have just entered the field of zebrafish research and need to work on basic experimental techniques such as breeding, reproduction, regular identification and strain construction of zebrafish.

Relevant courses were set up from the aspects of the construction of the zebrafish breeding facility, zebrafish breeding, zebrafish disease, zebrafish basic experimental techniques and zebrafish network information database.

The training courses combined theory course with experiment course, and takes practical practice as the core and characteristic of the courses.

To ensure the goals would be reached at the end of the courses, each course was limited to less than 20 trainees.

After the training session, all the participants were invited to participate in the anonymous course assessment. In the 35 assessment questionnaires, the comprehensive satisfaction reached 9.4 points (out of 10). 90% of the students would like to recommend this training session to others.

CZRC also extensively collected the participants' needs for zebrafish technical training and technical services. In the future, CZRC will hold national training based on these needs and further improve the content and quality of the training courses.
