Institute of Hydrobiology (IHB) of Chinese Academy of Sciences held its commencement ceremony on June 20, 2020. 33 student representatives and their family members and friends attended the ceremony.    

Prof. BI Yonghong, on behalf of the faculty, expressed heartfelt congratulations to IHB’s 2020 graduates. He encouraged the students to “be humble when you are prosperous in life and be brave when life throws you curves.”   

“No matter what kind of career you will choose, you should devote to it,”added Bi.   

ZHANG Dong, a 2020 Ph.D. graduate, expressed gratitude to IHB in his speech. “In the best time of my life, IHB witnessed my growth. I will be facing new challenges with great courage that I’ve learned for the past years at IHB.”he said.   

IHB’s acting director YIN Zhan, in his speech, reviewed his personal experiences as a student. He encouraged the graduates to turn the difficulties encountered in study into motivation for future development. “Be proud of your research and make your own achievements in your future career.”   

Yin conferred degrees and turned the tassels in turn for the graduates.    

Graduates who saw the ceremony online received blessings and congratulations from teachers and students present at the ceremony.    

Among the graduate, eight with master degree were from the joint cultivation program between IHB and Dalian Ocean University.
